The County Performance Auditor’s Office conducts audits to help improve the performance, accountability, and transparency of Lane County Government. Performance audits provide information on whether programs are achieving their outcomes, so the County can continuously build public trust.

The County Performance Auditor is appointed by (and reports directly to) the Board of County Commissioners. The Performance Audit Committee, established to promote the independence of the performance audit function, provides oversight to help ensure accountability and transparency in Lane County government.  

The prioritization of audits is based on potential risks and needs in the County, along with finding ways to increase efficiency.  Audits are then drafted with findings and recommendations.

Completed performance audits will be presented to the Performance Audit Committee and the Board of County Commissioners.

The County Performance Auditor follows Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards.
