Lane County Public Health (LCPH)

Lane County Public Health offers immunizations (vaccines or "shots") for infants, children, adolescents & adults.

The Immunization Program ensures community access to vaccinations by educating health care providers, making sure school children are immunized, and by providing low or no cost immunizations to uninsured or underinsured children. ​

COVID-19 vaccine

Lane County Public Health is currently only offering the COVID-19 monovalent vaccine to children under 19 years of age. For those over age 65 seeking the booster recommended by the CDC for spring 2024, please contact your pharmacy or healthcare provider. Please see the current CDC recommendations for this age group. 

If you are experiencing COVID symptoms, please see the current CDC guidance (March 2024). 

CDC recommends the 2023–2024 updated COVID-19 vaccine for everyone 6 months and older.

Everyone 6 months and older should get 1 dose of the updated Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine to protect against serious illness from COVID-19. People who are moderately or severely immunocompromised may get additional doses of updated COVID-19 vaccine.

Updated COVID-19 Vaccines are available at most places you would normally go to get your vaccines.

Please check vaccines.gov for a list of locations where the updated COVID-19 vaccine is available. While certain pharmacies and locations are listed as having the updated vaccine available, it is best to check for appointment availability on the providers’ site directly.

Shingles Vaccine

Shingrix (Shingles vaccine) Update:
 
Lane County Public Health unfortunately does not currently carry the Shingrix (Shingles) vaccine. Please check with your doctor or local pharmacy on how to get a Shingrix vaccine. You can also try the Shingrix vaccine finder.

Immunizations for Infants, Children & Adolescents

Lane County Public Health provides vaccines that protect against Diphtheria, Hepatitis A & B, Tetanus, Pertussis, Polio, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Meningitis, and Pneumococcal Disease.

Vaccines protect a child now and in the future by preventing diseases that are life threatening. Vaccines are required by Oregon law for all children entering school. For children under 5 years of age, shots against Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) are also recommended.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends the following immunization schedule for infants, children & adolescents.

Immunizations for Adults

Lane County Public Health provides Varicella, Meningococcal, Tetanus, Pertussis, Diphtheria, Pneumococcal, Hepatitis A & B vaccinations and TB skin tests for adults. Influenza vaccines are also offered in season.

The CDC recommends the following immunization schedule for adults.

Immunization Costs

Costs are based on the type of vaccine or testing supplies and/or administrative costs.  Lane County Public Health accepts Oregon Health Plan and Pacific Source.

The Vaccines for Children Program (VFC) supplies federally purchased vaccines for immunizing eligible children in public and private practices - at no cost for children ages 18 and under who are on OHP or uninsured or underinsured with a high deductible.

No person meeting eligibility criteria will be denied state supplied vaccine due to inability to pay. Please contact Lane County Public Health for more information on eligibility and vaccine prices.

Information for Healthcare Providers

A systematic approach to vaccination is necessary to ensure that every individual is appropriately protected against vaccine-preventable diseases.

Adhering to the immunization schedule so that all Lane County children have received the necessary immunizations by the age of two is critical.

Women of child-bearing age should be fully immunized to protect themselves and, in the case of pregnancy, their unborn child.

The public’s health is enhanced when healthcare providers and individuals maintain detailed records about vaccination history.

World Health Organization (WHO) – global program for vaccines and immunization   

LCPH services are available regardless of age, race, color, sex, religion, national origin, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, and marital status. LCPH facilities are wheelchair accessible. LCPH materials are available upon request in alternative formats such as: large print, Braille and other languages.  This health center receives HHS funding and has federal Public Health Service deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals.
